Top Jobs for Investigative People
Are you someone who enjoys investigating the world around you? Did you ask questions constantly when you were a kid? (perhaps you still do). Was science one of your favourite subjects because it helped you to understand what was going on around you?
If so, it may be that you moved towards the Investigative group at the Party.
Computer related jobs such as engineers and analysts and jobs which involve diagnosis such as doctor, chiropractor, optometrist or vet are some of the jobs which work well for investigative people. You can also see where these overlap with some of the other groups,
Scientists of all descriptions also fall into this category, as does any type of research.
If you’re interested in history, jobs like genealogist might appeal to you. Alternatively, jobs in the police or national security might be more your thing. Since programmes like CSI appeared on TV, the number of young people studying forensic science has increased dramatically, although they are probably finding it’s a little less glamorous than it seems on TV.
If you are a scientist, and an academic, how about becoming an Investigative Toxicologist? This involves looking at the negative effects of chemicals on living
organisms. Usually, toxicologists identify foreign chemicals in the body, focusing on toxic or hazardous substances. You do need a doctorate in biological sciences.
What can you do if you are investigative, but no good at science or not very academic? If you are good at writing, investigative journalism could be a good choice. If you enjoy repairing things or solving problems, you can find work in many different areas where you can discover what’s gone wrong and find a solution.
Jobs which involve problem solving include a huge range of options from engineering to events organizing.
Investigative types aren’t usually all that interested in leadership, often being reserved and preferring to work alone.
