Portfolio Careers for Multiple Income Streams
I wrote a post about portfolio careers a couple of weeks ago and now I have finally finished a report on the subject. I’ve included a lot of information about setting up your own home based business and also links to articles on careers.
There are plenty of ideas for businesses, both on line and offline and links to useful resources which you might like to invest in once you have decided which direction is right for your portfolio. It does take a bit of time and organization, but it will be worth it in the end.
You can download the report free (no sign up required).
To read the report online go to: Portfolio Career
If you would like to download the report, you can do so here: Download Portfolio Career
Look for Direct Download on the right and click on the Adobe Acrobat link.
hope you enjoy it.

Bad A Level Results?
Today is a big day for young people in the UK – exam results day. A levels or advanced levels, are the exams young people take to gain a university place and today is the day they find out if they have got their place of choice.
Many who don’t get the grades they needed will find an alternative place through the university clearing system. And quite a few applicants will find new places by the end of today or tomorrow.
But there has been a 10% increase in university applications this year and this means fewer places available through clearing. Read more…

Need to Make Extra Money? Start an Internet Business
It’s been a while since I last posted, but I have been working hard in the background. . . there are some new developments coming soon. More on that tomorrow.
But today I’m going to talk a bit about free seminars, since I mentioned the Millionaire Mind Intensive in my last post.
Free seminars can and usually are, really good. You’ll get loads of good information, meet lots of new people and come away really motivated.
However, there is a big but, a very big BUT.
Part of the information you will be given is information about courses and seminars, which aren’t free. In fact, although they are usually special offers – only available during this particular seminar – they are very expensive. And if there are a lot of speakers, each will have his or her own offer – something you can’t live without, can’t get anywhere else and must buy now.
This can be very confusing and you can end up spending a lot of money on something which could be unsuitable for someone with your level of knowledge or your particular aspirations.
I would recommend that you leave your credit card at home! Most of the speakers will be back at the next big seminar and you can go off and research their programmes in the meantime to see if they are what you want.
One of the suggestions on the Millionaire Mindset Intensive was to start an internet business. There have also been a number of free seminars here (London) recently on that specific topic. I didn’t go, because I didn’t want to come away feeling I was missing out.
If you want to start an internet business, here is a much better and much more affordable option, designed for beginners. In fact, you can “try before you buy” by taking a look at this free 26 part video course, which leads you through all the steps you must take to get started online:

And in case you are wondering, if you do decide to become a member, it’s only $27 a month and that includes hosting, a squeeze page, a product to give away and another one you can sell and keep all the cash.

Come back tomorrow for more about those new developments.
If you buy through the links on this page, I will receive a commission.

How to Get Your Career Back on Track
As we move into the New Year, it doesn’t look as if the economy is going to improve any time soon. There are signs of more businesses going to the wall adn serious job losses are being predicted everywhere.
So what can you do if you want to hold on to your job? It might feel as if the situation is hopeless, but there are a number of things you can do to help you either keep your present job or if you lose it, put yourself in a stronger position to get a new job.
Today let’s look at continuing education.
For some time now, continuing professional education has been a buzz word or is that a buzz phrase? The reason for this is that we are experiencing change at an unprecedented rate. For previous generations, it would take centuries and then decades for major change to come about. But for us, change is happening at a much faster rate than ever before.
Think about it, mobile phones or cell phones were invented soem time ago and by the 70s were still huge, impractical objects. Mobiles or cell phones as we know them didn’t become commonly used until the early 90s. but look how much they have developed – and how quickly since then.
In the last few years, we’ve been able to take photographs, surf the internet and read email on our hand held phones.
And communications isn’t the only industry which is experiencing such rapid change – but all of us communicate with others in our jobs and so we need to keep up.
If you want to stay in work, or be able to get a new job quickly, one of the best things you can do is keep up to date with what is going on in your own industry and keep on top of the technology used in your job.
Wise employers realize that it’s a bad idea to cut training programs when times are tough and if you are fortunate to have such a boss, find out which training course or funds you are entitled to and take advantage of them.
If you can’t get training at work, make a point of using some of your spare time to keep up to date, even if it’s just learning how to use the latest version of Word.
Employees are expected to engage in continuing education these days and if you want to hold on to your job, keeping your skills up to date will help you do so. And it will also help you get a new job if you lose your present one in the recession.
