3 Reasons to Change Career Now

Posted By: admin on September 29, 2008 at 5:03 am

Are you thinking of changing career? There are plenty of good reasons to do it now, here are three of them:

Reason One

Your company is cutting back, redundancies are being made and you suspect that your job may be one of them. With the current economic downturn, many employers, simply have no choice. So chances are, many of you are really worried about your current job and your future job prospects. If you think you could be laid off, it’s time to start thinking about a career change now. so, brush up your interview skills and get your CV or résumé updated right away.

Take a long hard look at the industry you work in. Is it going to be badly hit by the recession? Do you think you can expect long term job security? Of course, no job is ever totally safe, but if yours is likely to be cut, it’s probably going to be hard to find similar work elsewhere.
And recessions do recur every ten years or so. So the coming recession won’t be the last! This is why it is wise to at least consider moving to a career, or a similar career but based in a different industry, that is, one which is less likely to go under in a tough economic climate.

Reason Two

You don’t have enough – or the right – skills to survive a recession. Even if you are an expert in your own field, it may be that your expertise is not in high demand Of course, certain specialists will always be needed, whatever is going on in the economy, but if you aren’t in the right niche or sector, you may need to think about developing some new skills.

Think about the type of skill which will always be in demand. This doesn’t need to be highly technical, although technology is not going away. You could work on soft skills, like communication skills and perhaps find a way of combining them with something like computing to give you more flexibility in the job market.

Reason Three

You hate your job. If you are stuck in a rut, in a job you dislike intensely, don’t think you have to stay there just because the economy is in trouble. It’s easy to think you won’t find anything new and just sit tight, but if you are unhappy, you really should think about making a move. You don’t need to leave your job before finding something new. And you might decide to start a part time training course for a new career. This will give your present job more meaning – it is supporting you as you move towards your new career.

Many people decide to make a career change at forty or some other significant time in their lives. If this applies to you, don’t let the economy hold you back.

If you need help changing career, find out what you really want to do. Or discover how to write a CV and cover letter. If you need help actually finding a job and want to gain interview skills, take a look at Ace that Interview.

Affiliate Money Making Program

Posted By: admin on September 18, 2008 at 8:00 am

If you are looking for an affiliate money making program, Clickbank is the best place to start. You will find a huge variety of affiliate products in a wide range of niches. So it won’t be difficult to find one which is of interest to you.

You need to make sure that other people are also interested in this particular niche, otherwise they are unlikely to buy anything. You can do this by searching for relevant keywords with google’s free keyword tool. This will also tell you how much money is being spent on advertising, which is a good clue to the amount of money being spent on products.

Affiliate marketing is a relatively easy area in which to get started, but you will need a fair bit of knowledge to make some money. You can listen to our free audio guide to an internet affiliate business and read the accompanying reports, but if you really want to make progress, I recommend that you take a look at Chris Farrell’s membership site. It takes you through everything you need to know about getting set up online and is great for beginners. If you sign up through my link, I will receive a commission. And I’ll see you in there!

Can You Recession Proof Your Career?

Posted By: admin on September 8, 2008 at 9:55 am

Is it possible to recession proof your career? With so many negative stories about the credit crunch in the news, is it inevitable that we will all be affected? If we lose our jobs – a common effect of recession – will we be able to get another one?

There are a few steps you can take to improve your chances of getting a new and even better job – or even keeping the one you’ve got.

To be sure you are in the running for the few remaining jobs out there, you have to have a high quality resume or CV which is carefully targeted for the job you want. It has to show the employer that you are the best person for the job and so it has to address the specific job in question. This is even more important when there is a recession or downturn in the economy. Jobs are scarce and those seeking them are many. You have to make sure you stand out if you are to find a job in a recession.

To do this, you must show that you understand what the job is, the skills it requires and the direction in which the industry is moving. Then you need to be able to show that you will be an asset to the company because of your skills, knowledge and insight.

Tough job for a resume or CV! But that’s what you need to achieve if you are to get to the next stage, that is, the interview.

Find out exactly how to write a great resume and recession proof your career.

If you are just starting college, you’ll need to know how to write an academic essay.

Essay styles vary from college to college and so the first step is to find out what is expected by your tutor.Try to have a look at some samples – the study support centre at your university should be able to help you. Or you can find second year students in your subject and get some tips from them. Just don’t copy their work if they allow you to have a look at it. You don’t want to be kicked out for plagiarism.

Your tutor may recommend books – there are many essay writing guides out there.
